Sourcemap

Senior Director of Product

New York
2017 - 2022

Sourcemap is a New York based SAAS company dedicated to supply chain transparency and traceability. A 2011 spinoff from MIT’s Media Lab, Sourcemap is used by manufacturers and brands globally to account for the end-to-end supply chain, and measure performance and risk every step of the way. Sourcemap's network includes over half a million farms, factories and mines, and its software is used by brands like Hershey's and Timberland to tell the story of where their products come from, and manage some of today's most challenging supply chain issues including deforestation and labor compliance.

As Senior Director of Product, I was responsible for the design, review and delivery of new product features, by planning and executing Sourcemap’s product roadmap, and ensuring efficient utilization of development resources and capacity. I collaborated cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to identify and translate customer requirements into product features and design specifications, and interviewed clients to investigate and synthesize pain-points and opportunities in their user journeys. I identified, tracked and leveraged key product metrics and analytics to drive data-driven product prioritization and decision-making, while consistently evaluating performance. As the company’s first product and design hire, I collaborated with the executive team to build a product management vertical from the ground up, and designed an internal knowledge management system and product operations framework to enable cross-team knowledge sharing.

Project JUST

Head of Product

New York / Mumbai
2015 - 2017

Project JUST was an online platform dedicated to increasing shopper awareness and interest about supply chain practices in the apparel industry, and offering in-depth research to consumers to make informed, responsible choices. Its mission was to transform the apparel sector by allowing consumers to access information about and demand greater transparency from brands and retailers in the fashion industry.

As the Head of Product, I worked directly with the company’s co-founders and technical advisor to design and build the Project JUST platform, which ultimately reached over 25,000 users per month in two years, and included the following suite of products: the Project JUST Wiki, Seal of Approval, City Guides, and Investigative Reports and Editorials. I conducted qualitative and quantitative user research through focus groups, in-depth interviews, and surveys, and synthesized research findings to develop user journeys and customer profiles, and identify and prioritize feature improvements and product iterations. I also designed and executed Project JUST’s crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with the leadership team, ultimately raising over $30,000 in 30 days.

Out Loan

Co-Founder / Designer

New York
2014 - 2015

Out Loan was my graduate thesis project, in collaboration with my thesis partner, Laura Kadamus, for the MFA in Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts. Out Loan was a digital platform that redesigned the user experience for federal student loan borrowers by a) guiding them through a simple Q&A process to quickly determine their eligibility for income driven repayment and public service loan forgiveness, and b) visualizing their repayment options through an interactive dashboard to better understand the short and long term effects of repayment strategies on their budgets.

Out Loan earned Laura and I the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for exceptional achievement in Design for Social Innovation, and was recognized by various financial and governmental institutions, including American Express, Capital One, Navient, ECMC, the United States Digital Service, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the White House Social & Behavioral Sciences Team.
